This National Monument rests on the southeastern flanks of the Jemez Mountains, southwest of Santa Fe. Scores of gravel, ash and sand "tent rocks," also known as "hoodoos," fill the landscape.  While fairly uniform in shape, the tent rock formations vary in height from a few feet to 90 feet.
